This highly experiential and interactive course guides leaders through a series of exercises that help them reframe organization issues from various perspectives and overcome various hurdles that arise when they encourage innovative thinking. Carbonate Reservoir Characterization

Description

The course introduces the participants to modern carbonate environments and explain how the constituents of a carbonate sediment become lithified and changed after deposition to provide potential reservoir rocks. Modern carbonate environments from particularly the Arabian/Persian Gulf and the Caribbean are examined in detail to provide a sense of scale and perspectice. Large scale carbonate architectures are discussed and illustrated from a sequence stratigraphic perspective with seismic scale examples illustrated from outcrop.

There are numerous illustrations of outcropping carbonates and evaporites from a wide range of depositional settings throughout the Phanerozoic.Petrophysical approaches to reservoir characterization of fields are illustrated with emphasis on fracture modelling, fluid saturation modelling and hydraulic flow units. A selection of carbonate oil and gas plays and fields from various parts of the world are discussed.

During the 3 day of this course, the entire drilling process will be discussed. The language of drillers – understanding their terminology. Understanding the abbreviations and acronyms associated with drilling. The process begins with identification of a target formation and discusses the equipment and procedures used to reach that target. This provides the background to explain all of the interacting variables involved in drilling wells. The remainder of the week involves detail discussions of the rig equipments and the functions of each, bits types, assembly, Casing, cementing, lost circulation, blowouts, under and overbalance.

The course will illustrate the drilling problems and how to detect and predict the problems considering the preventive action. Also discussing the primary technologies needed to understand the science, engineering, and art needed to create, or construct, a useful well bore. Although some mathematics, such as algebra, will be used in some of the discussions, the primary intent is to provide an understanding of the theory. The ability to calculate the various numbers will be very helpful, but not absolutely necessary, for comprehension of the procedures and theory.

The course provides a fundamental, basic knowledge of the intricacies of drilling fluid, drilled solids management, drill bits, drill string design, cementing, casing, safety, directional drilling and tools used, and a discussion of predominant problems such as stuck pipe and lost circulation.

Pendahuluan

Berdasarkan perkembangan sejarahnya di negara-negara maju, kejahatan kerah  putih dapat disebut dengan istilah business crime atau economic criminality. Hal ini karena pelaku kejahatan ini banyak melibatkan para pengusaha, pegawai perbankan, lembaga keuangan dan para pejabat. Pada awalnya kejahatan kerah putih banyak terjadi dalam birokrasi pemerintahan.

Kejahatan keuangan dapat menimbulkan kerugian finansial yang sangat besar bagi negara dan berbagai persoalan di bidang sosial dan masyarakat, misalnya suatu tindak pidana korupsi yang dilakukan pada proyek pengadaan unit transportasi dan pembangunan jalan, maka dapat menyebabkan tingginya tingkat kecelakaan di jalan raya sebagai akibat dari fasilitas transportasi dan jalan raya yang sangat tidak memadai.

Kejahatan kerah putih juga termasuk kecurangan (fraud), dimana pelakunya seringkali tidak menganggap dirinya sebagai penjahat. Bahkan mereka dapat merasionalisasi tindakannya sebagai bagian dari tuntutan profesi sebagaimana biasanya. Dalam prakteknya, para pelaku fraud juga berjejaring dengan berbagai lintas profesi sehingga sering disebut juga sebagai kejahatan terorganisasi (organized crime). Dewasa ini, Fraud juga dilakukan dengan memanfaat arus perkembangan teknologi informasi yang mutakhir melalui sistem komputerisasi. Oleh karena itu, dunia perbankan dan industry keuangan serta korporasi lainnya menjadi lahan subur bagi praktik kejahatan seperti ini. Kejahatan model ini merupakan gejala masyarakat industri.

Sehubungan dengan fakta diatas, maka Perusahaan dituntut untuk dapat mencegah dan mendeteksi adanya kecurangan secara optimal pada masing-masing unit kerjanya dengan mengembangkan sistem anti fraud, diantaranya dengan cara implementasi audit investigasi, whistle blowing system dan Manajemen Risiko secara komprehensif.

Audit Investigatif (Fraud Examination) adalah kegiatan pengumpulan fakta-fakta dan bukti-bukti yang dapat diterima dalam sistem hukum yang berlaku di Indonesia dengan tujuan untuk mengungkapkan terjadinya kecurangan (fraud). Audit Investigatif meliputi upaya untuk mendapatkan berbagai bukti-bukti dan pernyataan-pernyataan, memberikan kesaksian, penulisan laporan, dan membantu dalam pendeteksian dan pencegahan tindak kecurangan.

Selain itu, Perusahaan juga dituntut untuk dapat mengoptimalkan wadah dan sarana bagi penerimaan input informasi dari Pihak lain melalui sebuah sistem yang disebut Whistle Blowing System (WBS). Whistle Blowing System (WBS) atau yang dikenal dengan Sistem Pelaporan Pelanggaran adalah tindakan dan prosedur pengelolaan penerimaan, analisis dan investigasi pelaporan Pelanggaran yang dilakukan atau diduga dilakukan oleh Pimpinan dan/atau Pegawai sebuah institusi/ lembaga/ perusahaan di dalam atau di luar lingkungan institusi/ lembaga/ perusahaan tersbut, serta pemberian perlindungan kepada pelapor.

 Melalui pelatihan ini diharapkan agar Perusahaan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan auditor internal untuk mencegah dan mendeteksi adanya kecurangan, membedakan antara kecurangan dan kesalahan melalui implementasi audit investigasi secara komprehensif, mulai dari pra perencanaan, perencanaan, pelaksanaan audit investigastif sampai dengan penyusunan laporannya.

Boiler Control & Burner Management Systems

Course Description

The boiler components and their purpose. Standard symbols that are used in boiler control and identifying the engineering and control of boilers using the symbols and a method of presenting the engineering. The course includes defining the control and ratio control fundamentals feed forward control, feed forward plus feed back control, cascade control and ratio control and how they are implemented in boiler control.

Also reviewed are control concepts proportional controls, proportional plus reset control, and proportional plus reset, plus derivative controlling what they are and how they are used. Flame detection methods are covered including the advantages of each method.

Systems for the safe start-up, monitoring, and shut-down of multiple burner boiler furnaces are covered in detail. Causes of furnace explosions and ways of avoiding them are discussed. The relationship of burner management systems and boiler control systems is explained. An understanding of boilers and boiler control is assumed.
