Tujuan pokok dari suatu pemeriksaan internal adalah membantu agar para anggota organisasi dapat melaksanakan tanggung jawabnya secara efektif. Lebih luas lagi bahwa komponen sistem dapat berfungsi efektif sehingga sistem berjalan sebagaimana yang diharapkan.
